History of the Alumni Association and the Anchor Club
Around 1967, the first group of four-year degree graduates of Lake Superior State College formed an alumni association and introduced the Anchor Men. Each alum who submitted $10 received an LSSC Anchor Man lapel pin and the funds were used for alumni programs. At that time, there were a few hundred former students who could claim to be LSSC alumni. The Alumni Anchor Men faded away. In 1994, your Alumni Assocation returned to the Anchor Man in a slightly different manner, but still honoring the Lake State tradition with the Anchor Club.
