SAILS Students & Alumni Association Student workers win awards

March 31, 2010

Megan Wickerham and Peter DeKraker were honored at The Activities and Public Relations Committee of the student Government of the Student
Assembly of Lake Superior State University awards dinner on March 31, 2010.

	Megan who was honored as the Outstanding Junior Student of the Year (Female) is from Carson City Michigan and is in the nursing program. She has been involved with the Student Alumni Involved for Lake State since her Freshman year and has also worked for the Foundation and Alumni Association on campus the entire time. Wickerham is so diligent about her studies that she chose to forego the awards ceremony and banquet as it conflicted with her class schedule. It will be amazing to see where her attitude and determination take her in the future.

	Peter who was honored as the Outstanding Junior Student of the Year (Male) is from McBain Michigan and is in the education program. He has been involved with the Student Alumni Involved for Lake State since his Freshman year and has also worked for the Alumni Association on campus for 3 years. DeKraker has also worked in conjunction with the Admissions Office in an attempt to insure that students that have been admitted to LSSU make Lake State their first choice. Pete has proven to be a great proponent of LSSU and will likely continue to be Lake Superior State University's biggest cheerleader well into the future.
