The Alumni Awards ceremony is the highlight of Great Lake State Weekend. This prestigious event celebrates the achievements and contributions of distinguished alumni, bringing together past graduates to honor their accomplishments and dedication to their fields. The event is combined with the LSSU Athletic Hall of Fame induction, where LSSU honors alumni who were student athletes during their time at Lake Superior State University.
The University invites nominations for the Paul Ripley Award for Young Alumni, the Kenneth J. Shouldice Achievement Award, and the Outstanding Alumnus Award. These distinguished honors recognize Lake Superior State University alumni whose professional accomplishments, leadership, and service exemplify the values of the institution.
