Plans are well underway for a gathering of Lukenda School of Business alumni in conjunction with recognizing long-time Professor Madan Saluja during Great Lake State Weekend 2019!
Highlights of the weekend include the Alumni Awards Banquet Friday evening, October 11, where 3 of the 4 honorees are from the Lukenda School of Business – a very impressive showing for our department! Award recipients include Cory (Gallaway) Andersen ’04, Wendy (Menard) James ’74, and David Saunders ’80. Reserve your ticket on the GLSW Registration page.
Saturday afternoon will feature a very special event recognizing Professor Madan Saluja’s 50 years of service to Lake State. The dedication of a statue of Dr. Saluja will begin at 3:00 pm in Considine Hall. Speakers at the event will include LSSU President Rod Hanley, Dean Kimberly Muller, Chair Mindy (Poliski) McCready, one or more notable alumni and of course, Dr. Saluja himself. Refreshments will be provided during and after the program.
Attendees have the option of lingering at Considine or joining in the festivities of the annual Women’s Walk fundraiser and reception in support of Laker women’s athletics at the Cisler Center, beginning at 4:00 pm. Either way, everyone can meet up at the Laker Hockey Tailgate from 5-7 pm outside the Norris Center. The Tailgate will have music, food, a cash bar, and games. There will be group seating for Business Alums at both hockey games, for those who register online in advance via the GLSW Registration page.
Many Business alumni have already made plans to attend, and of course Dr. Saluja will be on hand to meet and greet everyone. Three hotels
are offering discounts for Laker alumni during GLSW. Reservation deadlines are approaching very quickly – some as early as September 13. Don’t wait to book! Check the GLSW website
for updates. Questions? Contact Mindy McCready, Chair in the Lukenda School of Business at firstname.lastname@example.org
